Hi everyone, I’m glad that you are interested in the topic of cyber bullying. To begin with, I’ll elaborate a bit more about myself. I’m a parent with a 9 year old boy, an educator who used to teach in an Institute of higher learning and a gamer who used to compete in WCG. What I am about to share and discuss is based on the experience that I have seen, encountered and observed. Hopefully, it will be beneficial to parents and teachers who are the guardians for potential victims of cyber bullying.

2) What makes you so passionate about the topic on cyber-bullying?

Cyber-bullying is getting increasing common with the availability of new technology. In fact, almost everyone get some form of cyber bullying one time or another. It can take the form of email, social network or any online platform. Such abuse can be daunting for adults who are supposed to be able to manage their emotions, let alone children who may affect their emotional and psychological growth.

3) What are the things attendees will expect to learn from your workshop?

Workshop will discuss common platform that cyberbullying can occur, forms of cyberbullying, how to handle bullies etc.
I will also briefly analysis some profiles of cyber bullies. Knowing the profile will help the parents understand and empathise both the bully and the bullied.

4) What is your number one tip for parents or teachers who have recently found out that their kid is being targeted online?

Provide emotional support and reassurance after notifying the authority.

5) Any last shout-outs?

Do not encourage your kid to change from being bullied to become a bully.
Flamers will get flamed.
