Singapore’s Cybersports & Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) attended the launch of the inaugural ASEAN Games for eSports (AGES) 2016 Tournament organised by eSports Malaysia (ESM) at the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Kuala Lumpur on 3 February 2016. AGES 2016 will see gamers from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam competing for an unprecedented regional prize pool of RM1,000,000 in Kuala Lumpur from 18 to 20 March 2016. SCOGA will host a local qualifier to select Singapore’s representatives for AGES 2016. More details will be announced shortly.
SCOGA President Mr. Kelvin Tan and Vice President Mr. Reuben Conceicao represented Singapore at the launch. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Mr. Tan and ESM President Datuk Latt Shariman Abdullah.
“We look forward to long term cooperation with host nation Malaysia and participating countries to elevate eSports, foster cultural understanding among eSports athletes, and build strong ties among ASEAN member countries,” said Mr. Kelvin Tan, SCOGA President.
