Those of you waiting for a follow up to the epicness that was GTR Hour can now rejoice! SCOGA returns with the Game To Read (GTR) Book Club, a community where gamers can sit down, read, and relive their favourite games-based books! But no, we won’t be reading any guidebooks here. Instead, we’ll be reading and discussing books based on our favourite game universes.
For our launch on Saturday, we’ll be discussing StarCraft #1: Liberty’s Crusade. This book follows Universe News Network journo Michael Liberty as he uncovers the corruption in the heart of the Terran Confederacy; it also takes place during the Terran campaign of the original StarCraft. You should always know your roots! A summary of the book can be found here.
If you’re interested in joining in (and you should be, considering StarCraft is possibly the hottest game on the planet right now), drop us a note at [email protected] to let us know. After that, follow these directions to get to your mission objective…
The POD
National Library Building
100 Victoria Street
The POD is located at the top of the NLB building, and offers a fantastic view of Singapore’s skyline. As dusk settles and the stars come out, you’ll feel a kinship with them not unlike what Mike Liberty felt in the endlessness of space. Guest registration will begin at 6.30pm, while the discussion proper will kick off at 7.30pm. Food and drinks will be provided, but again, only if you let us know first!
See you there!
p.s. for the unfamiliar, this post title is one of the most notable quotes from Starcraft 2.
